10 Best Texas A&M Senior Photography Locations in 2020

HOWDY!

Are you getting ready to plan your senior portraits?! SO EXCITING!! I am listing some of the bests spots on campus and why I think these are beautiful locations for your senior portrait session at Texas A&M University. Also, you will find out when the best time to book your session is!!

1. Academic Plaza (Military Walk, Century Tree, Academic Building, and some pretty little spots around the area)

Academic Plaza has a lot of location variety all in one. The Century Tree is beautiful with the sunshine shining through. Military Walk is always gorgeous with the trees hanging over the sidewalk making an archway. The Academic Building can sometimes be tough shooting if there is harsh light, but such a beautiful place with the archways and beautiful tile work. There are some pretty little spots you can find with other buildings around this area if you have time.

2. Association of Former Students & Fountain near by

A great spot once the sun is closer to setting. It can be quite bright early in the evening, but it’s such a great location for those who love the green ivy wall, big Aggie ring, and having Kyle Field in the background. Plus, there is a fountain near by we can go to with Kyle Field as the backdrop!

3. Kyle Field

Great for all those senior who love spending football season at Kyle Field!!

4. Administration Building (very popular, highly recommend booking months before graduation)

I have waited 45 minutes before to just get 10 minutes of shooting time down the pretty hallway there. I highly recommend booking months before graduation if you really want this location. It is a very beautiful light and airy spot with the beautiful maroon tile, white columns, and stairs. The cool thing is it’s also very beautiful photographing from farther away.

5. George Bush Library

A beautiful place if you love greenery, flowers and a small pond. These photos are from the fall when the yellow/orange fall colors were out!!

6. Field near George Bush Library (best in spring time)

During the spring this location is beautiful with wildflowers and tall green grass!!

7. Research Park

Research Park is a great location all year round. The sunset is beautiful there.

8. On top of Cain Garage

Cain Garage is a great location on a cloudy day because the sun isn’t in your face when you want Kyle Field in the background, but can also be great on a sunny day if you hit that location last (closer to sunset).

9. The Gardens at TAMU

A new favorite. The greenery and flowers are beautiful!!

10. Dixie Chicken & Bottle Cap Alley

Always a great location for those who love night life, dominoes and friends at the Dixie Chicken.

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO BOOK YOUR SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSION?
Once you know you have to have a certain photographer take your senior portraits!! Get on their calendar.

Spring Graduates: Contact your photographer in January/February to book your session for March & April!
Summer Graduates: Contact your photographer in February/March to book your session in May after spring graduation has happened. Campus will be amazing because not many people are there!!
Fall Graduates: Contact your photographer in June/July to book your session in August-October!

The earlier you book the better because campus gets a lot of seniors taking photos the weeks before graduation. Sometimes you even have to wait in line for a location, which eats up your time taking photos!

If you haven’t chosen a photographer do some research! Find a photographer whose style you like and see if they would be somebody you would love to hangout with. Check their social media platforms, website and their blog (if they have one on their website).
